GOALKEEPER Ryan Gosney atoned for a late howler to send Sholing through to the Sydenhams League Cup semi-finals.

The Boatmen led neighbours Hamble Club by a Dan Mason penalty heading into stoppage time at the Universal Stadium.

But Gosney's unfortunate slip let Coby Wilson in for a late Hamble leveller, taking the tie to a penalty shootout.

The keeper's response was to save all three Hamble spot kicks as Sholing progressed 3-0. Lee Wort, TJ Cuthbertson and Barry Mason fired the Boatmen through.

Sholing are joined in the semi-finals by Sydenhams One outfit Baffins Milton Rovers who overcame higher league Hamworhy United 2-1 courtesy of a Ryan Pennery brace.

Bashley edged the delayed third round tie 1-0 at Bemerton Heath Harlequins with a Rhys Owen goal separating the sides. The Foresters will now host either Alresford Town or Shaftesbury.
