FAREHAM Town’s miraculous revival under new boss Pete Stiles continues.

Whitchurch United were the latest victims as the rampant Reds extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 1-0 win at Cams Alders.

Curt Robbins did the honours with a second-half penalty and, should Fareham win again at Bashley tomorrow evening (Tuesday), the former cellar-dwellers could climb as high as 14th in the Sydenhams Premier table.

“That is quite something when you consider the club were bottom just after Christmas,” smiled Stiles.

*BASHLEY laboured to a 1-1 weekend draw at lowly Cowes Sports.

Cowes’ Gareth Bricknell opened the scoring on 32 minutes, punishing a lack-lustre first-half by the visitors.

Bash were better after the break and got their reward on 84 minutes when Kabba Jack – who had already had a ‘goal’ disallowed - struck from Chris Lucas’s long throw. It was Jack’s 17th goal of the season.

TENTH-PLACED Lymington Town completed a season’s double over Bemerton Heath at the Sports Ground.

Dave Lewis’s side emerged 2-1 winners as goals from Nathan Hurst and Charlie Willett eclipsed a single Jake Rawkins effort for the Harlequins.

*STEVE Johnson has resigned as assistant manager of Sydenhams Premier outfit AFC Portchester.

The experienced former Havant & Waterlooville coach has stood down due to increased work commitments with the Royal Navy FA and the FA Council.

Despite that blow, the Royals returned to winning ways at Bournemouth Poppies on Saturday.

Andy Todd struck twice in a 2-0 victory that keeps Portchester fifth in the table, four points clear of rapidly-rising Alresford Town, who have four games in hand.

*CHEERED on by a free-entry crowd at Arlebury Park, Alresford brushed aside Hamworthy United 3-1 courtesy of two-goal Chris Mason and Tom Sands to power into the top six.

Brandon Randall struck first for the Hammers, but a brace of Mason penalties – one awarded for handball and the other for a foul on Geoff Dunn – straddled a Sands header.

Rich Luffman's Magpies host Lymington Town on Wednesday (7.45pm).

*ANDOVER Town celebrated Alex Dockree’s 100th league appearance for the Portway club with a 3-2 home win over Newport IoW.

Player/assistant manager Zach Glasspool got the scoring under way with his fourth goal in the last five games before Adam Grange doubled Town’s advantage.

Newport’s Liam Newbold got the last touch on a Grange cross for Andover’s third before Ross Gregory fouled the Islanders’ Liam Triggs inside the area and Connor Kelly made it 3-1 from the spot.

The visitors scored again through sub Josh Maloney on 86 minutes, but Town held strong for three Sydenhams Premier points, moving them up to 12th.
