SALISBURY bowed out of the BigFreeBet.Com Challenge Cup last night, beaten 4-3 at Evo-Stik South West rivals Larkhall Athletic.
Stuart Green plundered a hat-trick as the Whites twice worked their way back into the game from 2-0 and 3-1 down, only to fall to a late winner.
Brace man Mason Williams sent the Larks soaring before Green, on as a second-half substitute, pulled one back for Salisbury.
An Elliot Wheeler own goal restored the hosts’ two-goal advantage before ex-Winchester City man Green struck twice more – one a penalty – for a 31-minute hat-trick.
But all that effort counted for nought as Greg Peel struck three minutes from time to send Larkhall through.
Salisbury must pick themselves up for Saturday's big fifth-versus-third league showdown against Bideford AFC at the Ray Mac.
