SALISBURY will be looking to end the only unbeaten away record left in the Evo-Stik South West when leaders Taunton Town are the visitors on Saturday.

A bumper crowd is expected for the game and segregation at Ray Mac will be in force, writes Graham Merry.

The Whites will also be out to avenge 4-1 loss at Taunton earlier in the season, when Owen Howe was their only scorer from the penalty spot.

The striker will be missing for this weekend's game as he starts a three- match ban after being given a straight red card in the 2-1 victory at third placed Evesham last weekend.

That win took the Whites ten points clear of the chasing pack in the second promotion spot, and they are eight points behind leaders Taunton from one more game.

The Evesham match also saw frontman Luke Hopper make his debut, but he lasted just three minutes before a calf injury ended his afternoon. He is likely to be out for three weeks.

Salisbury boss Steve Claridge said: "It is disappointing to lose two of our big game players as we face the best team in the league.

"However, we will still give it our best shot. We were not very good when we played them down there and they were probably wondering how we were second."

On Tuesday night, Salisbury travel to Melksham to take on Hellenic League Premier Division leaders Highworth Town for a place in the final of the Wiltshire Senior Cup against National League South side Chippenham.

Claridge added: "I will give some of the young players a chance in this game. They have not let me down yet. We have a busy time coming up with games, so we have to manage the squad of players we have."
