TOBY Holmes’ remarkable scoring exploits continue.

Wimborne Town’s goal machine netted his fourth hat-trick in his last dozen appearances as the Magpies brought second-placed Salisbury down to earth with a bump 4-2 at Cuthbury in the Evo-Stik South West this afternoon.

Having taken the lead through a Jake Wannell header from Danny Young’s cross, Salisbury were pegged back by Holmes with a 43rd-minute penalty awarded for handball by Elliot Wheeler.

The second half was only seven minutes old when Holmes latched onto a through ball and finished calmly for 2-1 and Wimborne struck again on 67 minutes when Luke Burbidge capitalised on Jack Lovell’s cross.

Owen Howe gave Salisbury hope with a 77th-minute reply, but that man Holmes completed another awesome treble from Burbidge’s assist.

Amazingly, Holmes has now netted 23 times in his last 12 appearances, boosting his season’s tally to 51, including 38 in the league.

*Rock-bottom Gosport Borough were thrashed 5-0 at high-riding Weymouth in the Evo-Stik South Premier.

Brandon Goodship’s hat-trick boosted his season’s tally to 33, backed by Harry Baker and an own goal.

*The Sydenhams Wessex League was a complete washout with the full programme of fixtures postponed due to Easter's heavy rain. T
