HAMBLE Club have made a major signing for their second season in the Sydenhams Premier Division.

The Monks have swooped for 33-year-old former Havant & Waterlooville, Staines Town and Winchester City full-back Jake Newton, who earned 23 international caps for Guyana.

Hamble, meanwhile, have already re-signed the bulk of their squad from last season, including Wessex Premier golden boot winner Nathan Lynch who plundered 35 league goals and 46 in total.

Other Monks to be staying at The Abbey include Rory Anderson, Dougie Rowe, Mike Byrne, Barry Mason, Ben Kemplen, Ricky Bull, Charlie Wagstaffe, Jack McCarthy and Brad Magookin.
