ANDOVER Town’s U-turn on promotion spells good news for Cinderford Town.
The Forest of Dean club were originally switched across from the Southern West to the East division when the provisional league allocations were announced last week.
But Andover, the Sydenhams Premier Division runners-up, were unable to take their place at the higher level due to a loss of club officers and sponsorship money.
That spells good news for Cinderford who have seen common sense prevail as they are now placed in the same division as nearby Cirencester Town and Slimbridge.
Andover, meanwhile, could find themselves playing in Sydenhams One (or an equivalent league) next season.
An FA statement said they were “likely to be placed at Step 6.”
