Gosport Borough manager Alex Pike has committed his future to his hometown club after winning promotion to the Evo-Stik Southern Premier.
Pike admitted he was interested in the vacancy at AFC Totton before securing a second promotion in seven years that means Gosport will be in the same division as the Stags again next season.
He said: “AFC Totton is a superb football club and had we not got promoted I might well have been interested.
“There is no doubt in my mind I'd have struggled to keep some of our players had we not gone up.
“But my assistant Mick Catlin and I have now signed two-year contracts and so has Justin Bennett, with an option for another year, so the club has continuity.”
