Saints linked with Benayoun move

Saints have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

It has been reported that the club are interested in signing the Israeli international, who they also considered at the end of the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old has returned to Stamford Bridge from a loan spell at West Ham in the last few days.

Benayoun made just six appearances in his injury-affected stint at Upton Park.

He joined Chelsea in July 2010, but has started just one Premier League game for the Blues since then

He's been a decent player in his time, but is well past his best, injury prone and he has started only 7 games in two and a half years. Probably demanding hgh wages too. No thanks.
