Danny Simpson has backed under pressure Leicester boss Nigel Pearson despite the Foxes' ten-game winless run.

The defender insists the squad are behind ex-Saint boss Pearson after their 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa left them bottom of the Barclays Premier League.

Leicester threw away a lead for the third straight game and have not won since beating Manchester United 5-3 in September.

Another defeat comes after Pearson's controversial row with a fan during their 3-1 loss to Liverpool, which he refused to apologise for.

But, despite taking two points from a possible 30, Simpson insists the manager has the squad's full support.

''We're 100 per cent behind the manager and if we weren't you would see it from the outside, from the performances, and you could say 'they aren't behind him','' said the right-back, who made his full Foxes debut on Sunday.

''We are trying to do the right things and it has to turn. A couple of wins and everything changes.

''It's fine margins, that's what the manager has said. We know it's going to change.''

Leicester also face being without Paul Konchesky for three games after he was sent off for clashing with Alan Hutton, who scored Villa's second-half winner on Sunday.

Pearson feels it is unlikely to be rescinded and Simpson knows losing Konchesky at this time would be a massive blow.

''We know what he's like and he has been a top player for years and is one of the most experienced here,'' he said.

''I'm not sure what happened and there are other players who can fill in for him. It makes us pull together and means someone else has a chance.

''I was on the other side and thought it was a typical scuffle which you have every week. I was surprised (he got sent off).''

Leonardo Ulloa had put Leicester ahead only for Ciaran Clark to equalise minutes later and Simpson admitted the Foxes only had themselves to blame.

''We looked solid at the back and then got the breakthrough, but then we conceded a poor goal,'' he said.

''You can't concede so quickly after scoring. You have to shut up shop and we are all so disappointed with the goal.

''It was a simple free-kick and at this level you can't give goals like that away. It deflates you a bit.

''At whatever level, you have to defend free-kicks. It wasn't anything special on their part. We should have dealt with that.''
