'SPECIAL Brew’ was the toast of Sholing after Saturday’s 4-0 win at Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Set-piece maestro Kevin Brewster had a hand in all four goals as the third-placed Boatmen racked up their fourth straight Sydenhams Premier victory.

Brewster’s pin-point deliveries from the corner flag contributed to three of Sholing’s goals, with skipper Byron Mason heading home twice.

Mason grabbed his first just after the half-hour mark and, seven minutes later, another Brewster flag kick found its way to TJ Cuthbertson who headed in powerfully from eight yards.

Sholing made a change for the restart with Lee Wort making way for Marlon Mason who helped make it 3-0 on 52 minutes.

Cuthbertson played in Brewster whose whipped-in cross found the sub, back to goal. He chested it into the path of Dan Mason and the striker took a touch before smashing a beauty into the bottom corner from 18 yards for his 12th goal of the season.

Barry Mason almost got in on the act when his power-packed shot was pushed around the post by Quins' keeper Rob Crossley.

But, ominously for Bemerton, Sholing won another corner on 71 minutes and that man Brewster completed a hat-trick of assists, teeing up Byron Mason to glance a downward header into the far corner.

Man-of-the-match Brewster might even have scored towards the end, but his 22-yard free-kick curled just over.

Sholing make the short trip to Folland Sports tomorrow (Tuesday) in the Russell Cotes Cup first round.
