Considering that this was our first outing together as a squad of any form, we played some superb controlled football for the first 25 minutes of the game and this surprised our opposition who are a very good passing team themselves.
We had far more of the play in the first half, but did not capitalise on our possession with any clear cut chances in front of goal, although we did hit a post with a cracking shot. We conceded an unfortunate free kick just outside the penalty area, which was superbly executed to give the opposition the lead. We made major changes at the start of the second half purely to give everyone a feel for the squad and to experiment with players in different positions.
