SOUTHAMPTON’S Gary Hunt this weekend starts his quest to regain the Red Bull World Cliff Diving championship.
Hunt won the tournament three years running, from 2010 to 2012 inclusive, before finishing second to Russia's Artem Silchenko last year.
The first of seven events on three different continents takes place in Havana, the capital of Cuba, this weekend.
Hunt is one of 14 divers who will be launching themselves off a 27-metre platform positioned on the historic Morro Castle as the curtain is lifted on the sixth season of the World Cliff Diving event.
The picturesque fortress of Morro Castle has been guarding the entrance to Havana Bay since the late 16th century.
Former Southampton-based Olympic diver Blake Aldridge is also one of the 14 divers in Cuba.
