Hampshire swimmer Andrew Willis won bronze for Team England in the 200m breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games.

The swimmer from Hart won the medal as he finished with a time of 2:09.87.

The 23-year-old was eager to beat training partner and Scottish swimmer Michael Jamieson but he was beaten by two Scotsmen in silver and gold.

Jamieson claimed second-place while his Team Scotland team-mate Ross Murdoch came in first.

Willis previously came 8th in the final at the London Olympic Games in 2012 and fourth at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

He also won the 200m gold medal at the British Championships in 2012 and has gold medals from the ASA Championships in 2010 and 2012 and narrowly missed out on a bronze medal by 0.18 seconds at the World Championships last year.
