St Denys wrapped up the Southampton Clubs League title in style – with a 9-0 whitewash of AFC Totton.

The result puts them 18 points clear with one set of fixtures to go.

The battle for runners-up will be decided next week with Totton Rec having a three-point advantage over Eastleigh FC – Totton Rec face Bitterne Park C at home while Eastleigh travel to Bitterne Park A.

The wooden spoon is also going to the final game with Bitterne Park A looking to make up the two-point gap at the bottom of the table.

The other game that will affect the wooden spoon is Bitterne Park B at home to Shirley & Millbrook.

The top finish was a 112 from Freemantle’s young Lewis Sinagoga while Chris Buckland checked out on a ton for Shirley & Millbrook.

Southampton Darts Series: There was little time for rest as players toed the oche for the new autumn series – with Bradley Kirk from West End claiming the first tournament.

Kirk got the better of Kevin Woodward from Sholing in the final. Kevin Saunders beat Gary Stafford to win the plate tournament.

Luke Getty nailed six maximums during the evening and summer series runner-up Justin Bradshaw posted the best check-out – a 152 game shot.

Totton & District League: Early leaders Salmon Leap A have dropped just a single game after a couple of matches.

But hard on their heels are The Keys, Saxon and Peg & Parrot.

Best finish of the week came from Salmon Leap A’s Graham Huggett with a 124 followed by Gary Lloyd’s 116 for Players and a 113 for Paul Jewer playing for Gamekeeper.

Freemantle, Shirley & District: Dorchester B continued their march to the title with a 7-2 win over Osborne.

However Osborne’s Jason Cook hit the best finish of the week with a 146.

There was a 115 game shot for Simon Woolgar of King George and a 120 from Shield & Dagger’s John Kirk.

Steve Ballard and Paul Dunn combined to produce a 12-dart leg for Dorchester B and there was a 13-dart leg from King George player Pete Thornton and 14-darters by his teammates Adam Dunn and Simon Woolgar.

King George have a four-point cushion at the top of Division 2 while Park Inn B are six points clear at the head of Division 3.

The competition, on the edge of the New Forest close to Downton, guarantees a £200 first prize.
