Former Saints boss Nigel Adkins is the latest manager to join Twitter.
Adkins’ current club, Reading, today confirmed that the 49-year-old has signed up to the social media site.
“The whole world is on Twitter,” said Adkins, explaining the reasoning behind his decision, in an interview with the Reading Post.
“I’ve never been a fan of it, but I have a responsibility to many people at this football club.
“So I’d like to find out about it and I think that’s sensible.
“I’ve got massive reservations, but until I go and do it, I’ll never know.
“I really don’t know how it will pan out.
"I’m expecting nothing but bad, but I’m trying to educate myself as to why people do it.”
Adkins, who took Saints from League One to the top-flight, before being controversially dismissed in January 2013, has so far tweeted ten times from his @TheNigelAdkins account.
Current Saints manager Ronald Koeman (@RonaldKoeman) is also on Twitter, where he posts frequent updates.
