PETER Symonds College’s women’s hockey squad are already eyeing an important date in their calendar next Easter.

The team will travel to Bath University to defend the national British Colleges Cup they won last season.

The Winchester-based students have already enjoyed good results in recent Under-18 Hampshire League games.

The squad have also used friendly matches against King Edward VI School and Bath University to improve.

Eight of the squad have been chosen for the AoC (Association of Colleges) National Squad – Megan Struthers (formerly at Kings’), Amy Evans-Roden (HCS), Bel Penfound (Westgate), Freyja Haigh (Test Valley), Izzie Vile (St Gabriel's), Robyn Creeden, Zoe McLean and Nat Thompson (KES).
