Winchester squash starlet Jared Carter has won the English Junior Closed Under-15 Squash Championships – without dropping a single game.

Despite still only being 13, he dominated his 15s age group in the national tournament at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, with a perfect record in the five matches he played.

Carter, supported by the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme, was England Under-13 champion two years ago, but was knocked out in the semi-final stage last year.

He made no mistake in Birmingham, though, powering to straight set wins over Hayden Smith (Essex), Oscar Khoo (Middlesex), Yorkshire’s Henry Anderson and West Country star Jake Newey, who was the only player in the tournament to take him to a tie break.

In the final, Carter brushed aside number two seed, Lancashire’s Oscar Beech 11-7, 11-4 and 11-4 to become Under-15 champion – the match over in just 26 minutes!

Carter now has the tag of English, Swiss and Dutch junior champion on his hugely impressive CV.

He is also a multiple winner of National Championships - winning U13 English, and British titles, and was a member of England’s Five Nations Grand Slam winning team and the Wycliffe School National Schools Championship winning U15 and U19 teams in March this year.
