The annual Hardley Christmas Handicap run took place this weekend within Hawkhill Enclosure in the New Forest.

Competitors have to predict their finishing time over the 10 kilometre course, running without any timing aids, including Garmin. The winners were jointly Chris Harris and Carole Bailey who both completed their runs just one second off their predicted finish times.

There was also the festive part of the run which involves awards for the best fancy dress outfits worn on the run. Winners there were Norman Yardley and Mary Corbett who performed as Eco Warriors with a working windmill and PV Solar Panel, second place went to Adrian Mudle and Mark Lee who took on the roles of the 118 guys from the TV adverts.

The standard of estimating finishing times was remarkably accurate as 21 of the 45 competitors completed the course within a minute of their target.
