IT is the superhero brawl filmed in Southampton that has reached nearly a million people - and it could be about to get even bigger.

The mixed martial arts fight pitted Spider-Man against Batman and Robin, has now caught the eye of one of the biggest names in the sport.

The video was filmed in 2013 as part of Southampton’s Hardest Man competition held at the city's Guildhall.

It has now reached one of the major names of the mixed martial arts world (MMA) in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White.

The wild brawl featured Sam Gale dressed as Batman, Tyrone Cooper dressed as Robin and Rob Hurst as the all conquering Spider-Man.

The fight ended badly for the caped crusader, with Robin running away mid-fight having sustained too much punishment, leaving Batman on the end of some spectacular kicks.

Dana White was impressed with Spider-Man's striking abilities and he joked to his 3.5 million Twitter followers that he is looking to sign up Spider-Man.

He even earmarked the superhero for a fight against Irish superstar Conor McGregor, who recently knocked out the then reigning champion in just 12 seconds.

Dana White tweeted: "I'm signing Spider-Man!!! UFC 200 Spider-Man vs @TheNotoriousMMA @UFC @lorenzofertitta "

Organiser of Southampton’s Hardest Man, Will Martin, 31, said: “I am surprised that it has taken this long for Dana White to see it as the event was quite big in the MMA sector.

“I am absolutely over the moon he posted that, it reminds me of what a great night it was and how much fun everyone had.”
