SOUTHAMPTON rugby star Mike Brown scored a crucial try in the RBS Six Nations.

Brown scored a try in the 63rd minute of the match against Ireland in the Twickenham on Saturday.

The score put Eddie Jones’ England side more than a try ahead of Ireland at 19-10.

The match saw Ireland score first with Sexton converting a routine penalty but Farrell levelled the scores to 3-3 from a penalty with CJ Stander killing the ball at a ruck.

The hosts were denied the game's first try, with England captain Dylan Hartley judged to have been held up short of the line.

Stander gave away a penalty for entering a ruck from the side, which Farrell converted, to nudge the hosts into a 6-3 lead.

James Haskell was sin-binned for a late and high tackle on Conor Murray and Ireland opted to punt to the corner rather than kick at goal and Murray scored a try after a rolling maul.

Sexton converted the score to give Ireland a 10-6 lead.

Farrell reduced Ireland's lead to one point with his third penalty, after he was obstructed by Devin Toner with Ben Youngs shaping for a break.

Sexton copped his first big hit of the day from Youngs holding his left shoulder as a result.

From a turnover Ford and Farrell whipped wide to Nowell on the right, before Chris Robshaw fired the scoring pass to Watson.

Farrell missed the conversion, but England still lead 14-10 in the final quarter.

England then quickly took advantage of an overlap for Brown to score. Farrell converted the try making the score 21-10.

Ireland were denied a try after Van der Flier was judged to have been held up and the full time result saw England triumph 21-10 and Billy Vunipola is named man of the match.
