Billy Castle fired in eight breaks of more than 50 in 11 frames to qualify for the last-32 of the English Amateur Championship.

The 24-year-old from Marchwood beat Ukrainian Andrii Senyk 4-3 with runs of 55, 57, 69, 80 and 100 at Upton Park Snooker Centre, East London.

And he added efforts of 53, 59 and 81 in a 4-0 victory over Matt Ford (Bracknell).

Castle said: “Hopefully I can go one better then when I got to the final (in 2015) and win it.”

The last-16 south will be hosted by the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester, in April. The southern and northern winners will then meet in the national final in June, again in Gloucester.
