FORMER Saints manager Ronald Koeman has infuriated Saints fan by saying the side's league cup final defeat was the "best result" for his new club.
Saints went 2-0 down to Manchester United and drew level after two goals from Manolo Gabbiadini, but a late winner from Zlatan Ibrahimovic broke Southampton hearts at the last.
But Everton manager Koeman, rather than keeping his own counsel, decided he would comment on the result.
He wrote on Twitter: "The best result for Everton - 7th place Europe?
"Southampton FC can be proud."

Saints fans responded angrily, with one referring to Koeman as a "snake", while many messages were unprintable.
Another wrote: "You had a chance in Europe with Saints but money was more important to you."
