The last round of the Eastleigh Stoneham Championship saw 50 anglers fishing both lakes.

Gary Naylor took bream and carp on the feeder and pole from peg 102 for victory with 46 lb. And he also won the overall title for good measure.

Maurice Townsend came second on the day with 40 lb 6 oz of bream and carp from peg 87. James Pitman took third with 35 lb 4 oz from peg 76. Others: Dave Rickwood 25 lb 10 oz, Dan Sherfield 20 lb 14 oz, Gerry Illingworth 20 lb 6 oz.

Overall, Naylor won with 85 points from Dave Moody (82.5) and Pitman (81).

Naylor also picked up the winner takes all pool on the Top Lake, while Moody took the winner takes all on the Bottom Lake.

New Milton A.C fished a match on Dandy’s Fords Match Lake with winner Nathan Fox taking 182 lb 10 oz of carp to 8 lb on the pole and corn from peg 20.

Dean Oakes fished peg 19 for 134 lb of carp and pole and corn, while Stuart Eaton was third with 86 lb 3 oz of carp from peg 15.

Malcolm Pepperell won Salisbury A.C’s club match on Petersfinger Lakes.

He landed 18 lb 12 oz of tench and skimmers on the pole and maggot, with Steve Trevitt second with 16 lb 10 oz of bream and eels taken on worm. Lee Goodfellow and Graham Houghton took joint third with 14 lb 8 oz.

Chris Albiston won Wimborne’s club match fished on Revels Match Lake.

He took 77 lb 8 oz consisting of 11 lb skimmers on the pole and 65 lb of carp to 5 lb on maggot down the middle.

Others: Jem Turner 66 lb 8 oz, Jim Finch 50 lb 8 oz, Pete Christopher 46 lb 8 oz, Brian Heap 44 lb 7 oz.

Jack Stamp won Todber Manor’s evening match on Hill View with 113 lb 2 oz from peg 49.

Others: John Candy 102 lb 4 oz, Nigel Fitzgerald 90 lb.

Ten-year-old Sam Evans enjoyed a fantastic trip to Wayne Little’s Milton Abbas venue with his dad Scott.

He set three personal bests with a 6 lb chub, a 7 lb 10 oz tench and Doris the carp at 37 lb 14 oz which he landed himself.

However, Sam refused to get in the water with the fish, leaving his dad to pose with Doris. Scott landed a cracking 27 lb common.

Over on The Isle of Wight’s day ticket water at Rookley Park, Tyrone Norah took a 24 lb mirror, while Sam Vece took a 21 lb 5 oz mirror and Tony Vece a 21 lb mirror.
