QK Southampton have drawn the plum tie in the third round of the Southampton Senior Cup.

The Hampshire Premier League top flight club’s reward for a hard-fought 2-0 win over lower tier Bush Hill Reserves is a glamour tie away to Saints.

Saints are competing in the Senior Cup for the first time since the 1980s to help celebrate the centenary of the Senior Cup.

It will be their second home tie in a row following last Tuesday’s 6-0 win over Southampton League club BTC Southampton at Staplewood.

QK are currently fourth in the HPL, having lost just one of their 10 games so far.

But they didn’t have it all their own way against a Bush Hill second string who are top of their HPL Combination league.

Indeed, they had to wait until the 80th minute before breaking the deadlock - and then it was via a Callum Drake penalty.

The same player added a second two minutes from time.

Infinity, also riding high in the HPL Premier Division, avoided a potential banana skin at lower tier Lyndhurst, winning 3-1 through Macauley Smith, Flippos Terzidis and Callum Parker.

Winchester Castle’s home tie with reigning HPL champions Bush Hill and Netley’s home tie with Comrades were both postponed at the weekend. They will now be played next weekend.

One other second round tie not yet played - holders Sholing’s home game with Folland Reserves - is scheduled for tomorrow night.
