Hursley Park ladies CC celebrated a successful season at the club’s annual awards evening.

The 1st XI finished runners-up in the Southern Premier League, losing only one match all summer - and that a last-ball defeat at champions Finchley.

That was a fantastic achievement considering the loss of overseas player Katelyn Fryett before the start of the season due to visa issues.

Hursley were also without key opener Charlotte Taylor for the entire season due to injury.

There were some outstanding individual performances from Emily Windsor and Abi Evans.

Windsor scored 147 at Canterbury, as well as four half-centuries, and Evans, in her first full season with the club, scored a century at Bishops Stortford as well as a 99. She also took 17 wickets with her off-spin and was also the leading catcher.

Rachel Carrick, who returned from Australia in May, contributed some fine bowling performances and there were solid contributions from all-rounders Harriet Batchelor and Dani Ransley, opener Sian Edwards and slow left-armer and skipper Hannah Timmins.

The 2nd XI, playing in Hampshire League Division 1, finished fourth in a league where all of the opposition are 1st XIs.

Skipper Amy Mistry oversaw many fine performances, including match-winning contributions from Louise Worsfold (a maiden century against Odiham), Sarah Attrill and Shami Mosweu and consistently good bowling from Anisa Ansar and Emily Mackenzie.

Two new players to the club this year, adding to the international flavour, are the respective captains of France (Rebecca Blake) and Botswana (Shami Mosweu), both of whom gained valuable experience in the 2nd XI.
