SAINTS fans are being offered the chance to spend the evening with one of their club’s most loved legends while raising money for two worthy causes who are helping to save lives in Hampshire.

Franny Benali will be talking about his career at Southampton Football Club, his love of the game and his personal fundraising mission to help in the fight against cancer during an evening at St Mary’s on Thursday.

The last remaining tickets for the evening – which include a drinks reception and buffet – are on sale with proceeds from the night going to Cancer Research UK and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Guests will hear from speakers on the night who will talk first-hand about the work of both charities and why fundraising is so important.

They will also be treated to a talk from former footballer-turned TV pundit Franny, who will share funny stories from his career at Southampton FC on and off the pitch.

The lifelong Southampton fan will also be speaking about his heroic fundraising efforts in recent years and his mission to raise £1m for Cancer Research UK’s Southampton centre and its trail-blazing work in immunotherapy.

Last year he completed an epic trek around the UK, running a marathon a day and cycling a further 75 miles between every Premier League and Championship football club to bring in the pounds for charity.

It was his second super-human challenge, having previously ran from Newcastle to Southampton via every Premier League Club in 2014.

So far he has raised a staggering £666,000 for CRUK.

Thursday’s fundraiser event will also include a silent auction with a host of prizes up for grabs including a flight in a Tiger Moth, signed Messi and Ronaldo football shirts and four nights at the Abu Dhabi grand prix.

A signed Southampton FC shirt, Gabbiadini’s signed boot and a piece of NATS artwork of aircraft in the skies over South East England are also on offer.

The event, which starts at 6pm with a drinks reception followed by a buffet from 6.45pm, will also raise money for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Available both day and night, 365-days-of-the-year, the county’s air ambulance is called out multiple times a day to emergencies ranging from crashes to sporting accidents and can get a critical care team to a scene within minutes.

It currently costs more than £9,000 a day to maintain the life-saving service. Both charities are being supported by NATS at their Swanwick and Whiteley sites and neither receives any government funding for their life-saving work.

Tickets, priced £20, and can be bought online at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/charity-fundraising-evening-with-francis-benali-tickets-44510366705
