ANDOVER shooting ace Richard Faulds has been selected for the British team that will compete at the Olympic Games.

Faulds won gold in Sydney 12 years ago and will look to repeat his success in the double trap this summer in London.

The 35-year-old, who has been selected for the last five Olympics, is part of a ten-strong Team GB squad.

A delighted Faulds said: "It feels fantastic to be picked for Team GB for London 2012. This will be the fifth consecutive Olympic Games which I have competed in, and to be able to compete on home turf is an absolute honour for me.

"Competing in London won't differ much from previous Olympic Games, and we’ll all have to cope with the usual difficulties which come with competitive sport. The home crowd will be a huge advantage to all of us, and having the support of family and friends is very important to me.

"I am very excited about competing in London, and I still remember exactly where I was when I heard that London was to be the host city. I remember thinking 'maybe I won't retire just yet.'"
