North Hampshire’s Rob Collard believes all the ingredients are in place to ensure a sweet finish to his British Touring Cars Championship season at Brands Hatch this weekend.
The Hook driver heads into the final showdown hungry for championship glory, but needing to turn around a 28-point deficit to rival Andrew Jordan in order to claim the Independents’ crown he won previously in 2003.
At the same time, the BMW ace will also be looking to play his part in delivering the Independents’ team trophy for the eBay Motors team.
"If you'd said we would be going into the final weekend with the chance of landing two titles I'd have bittern your hand off for that,” said Collard.
"The team have done a great job of maximising the performance of the car at every round, and from my point of view I've focused on delivering consistency in qualifying and races.
"I've managed to get the BMW into the top five or six on the grid in most rounds and make good starts, which really helps you stay out of trouble in the early stages of a race.”
