Hampshire are hoping to seal victory today in the Women's County Finals after continuing their dominance of the event at Belton Park Golf Club.

The team made it four victories out of four, with a thumping 8.5-0.5 win over Gloucestershire on the penultimate day of action yesterday.

Hampshire, who have not been crowned English champions since 1995, are the only side with a perfect record and will take the title if they beat, or halve with, Buckinghamshire today.

After winning all three of the morning foursomes against Gloucestershire, captain Mags Clark's team nearly completed a clean sweep in the afternoon singles.

Despite the lopsided nature of the score, however, Clark insisted the contest was closer than many might have thought.

"Everyone here is a regional winner and there are no easy matches, far from it," she told the England Golf website.

"Every day it’s much, much closer than the scores suggest and we are delighted to end the day with another win."

In the morning, Kerry Smith and Emma Allen teamed up in the top match for a 4&3 win, Georgina Mundy and Sarah Bradshaw triumphed 6&5, and the duo of Chris Quinn and Charlotte Barrow stormed to an 8&6 success.

The singles saw victories for Allen (3&2), Smith (5&4), Bradshaw (4&3), Barrow (1up) and Kelly Travers, with Mundy securing a half.

Hampshire's perfect record of four points puts them clear of second-placed Yorkshire, who are on three.
