RICHARD Bland is hoping to play a part in the European Tour’s Final Series after clocking up the air miles and the euros with impressive performances in the last two tournaments of the regular season.

The Stoneham pro has bagged top-25 finishes in the Hong Kong Open earlier this month and this weekend’s ISPS HANDA Perth International, where he finished in a tie for 21st.

Bland banked more than 13,000 euros in Australia to take his season’s winnings close to 400,000 euros, while also improving his Race to Dubai position to 68th.

The 41-year-old will be hoping he’s done enough to make the field for next week’s BMW Masters in Shanghai – the first event of the Final Series – once the final entry list is finalised tomorrow.

Should Bland get the nod, he’ll be teeing it up in China on Thursday alongside star names Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Ian Poulter and defending champion Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño.

Also competing for a slice of the $7,000,000 prize pot will be Hampshire’s Justin Rose – Europe’s Ryder Cup hero of Gleneagles.
