HAMPSHIRE today embark on their first English Boys County Finals in 11 years.

The six-man team progressed through the South East qualifier in June, following a sensational performance.

And they will now go up against Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Devon over the next three days at Cotswold Hills, in Gloucestershire, for the national title, which they have never won.

Hampshire are without English Amateur champion Harry Ellis, who has been selected to play for Great Britain & Ireland in this week’s Jacques Leglise Trophy.

They are also missing Hampshire’s men’s and junior county champion Jordan Ainley because of a back injury.

But manager John Moore still boasts a strong side, which includes Brokenhurst Manor’s Jack Singh- Brar, an England Under-16 international and county under-16 champion.

Hampshire will meet favourites and six-time champions Yorkshire today in their opening match of the round robin tournament.

Hampshire reached the finals after their victory at Royal Mid Surrey two months ago.

Despite having been seven shots back after the morning play, they stormed back in the afternoon to win by 14 strokes.

Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Channel Islands: T J Donaldson (Waybrook Park), Scott Gregory (Corhampton), Billy McKenzie (Rowlands Castle), Charlie Manning (North Hants), Jamie Mist (Hayling), Jack Singh Brar (Brokenhurst Manor), Jack Stubbington (Hockley).
