SAINTS legend Jason Dodd could be set for a remarkable return to the club.

The Daily Echo understands that the former Saints skipper and current Eastleigh manager has been invited to Staplewood next week for talks with George Burley.

Dodd could be asked to take on a coaching role at the club in the wake of assistant manager Glynn Snodin's departure this week.

Ex-Dell assistant John Gorman, recently recruited as chief scout, has been temporarily installed in Snodin's position.

Dodd played 399 Premiership games for Saints following his arrival from Bath City in March 1989 to his release in May 2005.

He spent an injury-plagued year with Brighton & Hove Albion before joining Eastleigh as a player 12 months ago.

Again, his playing opportunities were limited by injury before he was promoted to first team manager in December of last year after Paul Doswell's resignation.
