WINCHESTER’S Rob Moore has “no idea” what he will do now following GB’s failure to medal in the London Olympics.

The 31-year-old was part of the men’s squad that finished fourth after losing the bronze medal play-off game to Australia 3-1 at the weekend.

With almost 250 caps to his name – for England and GB – it has been suggested Moore could now quit the international scene.

“In terms of what I'm going to do next I have no idea,” admitted the Surbiton striker.

“I'm certainly not going to stop playing hockey but to what extent I’ll have to see when the dust settles.”
Moore had been part of some emotional meetings with the rest of the GB squad after their 9-2 semi-final humiliation against the Netherlands.

“We had some honest meetings (after the semi-final),” said striker Ashley Jackson.

“Everyone had to take a good hard look in the mirror at themselves and work out why they were playing, what they were doing here and who they were doing it for.

“We said if they didn’t want to buy into the way the team played then we didn't stand a chance against anyone.”
