THE recent lunch in aid of Multiple Sclerosis raised £529 and the next lunch will be on Wednesday, May 28 at the village hall.

THE Allotments and Gardens Association's summer evening openings start again on Wednesday from 7pm and 8pm at the trading store next to the Small Village Hall.

Tonight, their talk is on 'Gardens open for Charity'.

THE April meeting of Good Companions began with members observing a minute's silence in memory of Mary Brandon who died in March, having been a member for many years. She will be sadly missed. Entertainment was provided by the Swan Singers, paying another return visit. Some old favourites and some humorous recitations were enthusiastically received.

IF you go to see Johnny English (starring Rowan Atkinson), don't forget to look for the vicar. And don't worry, the gravestones were only pretend ones that were blown up. Part of the film was set in Hughenden Churchyard.

THE Warden's Spring Walk will take place this Sunday at 10am at Hughenden Manor. Join him to see spring in full swing with adults tickets £3 and children £1.50.

HUGHENDEN Art Group will be led by Mike Eade with Costume Life Drawing tonight. On Monday 'Copy a Master Constable' will be the challenge.

A DARK blue Golf car parked in Valley Road had its tyres let down, resulting in two of them becoming unusable. A sticker, purporting to be from The Residents' Association was left on the car. In fact, the Residents' Association deplore this act and fully sympathise with the car owner. They are dismayed and angry that someone used their headed note paper, purporting to be them. The incident has been reported to the police.
