CHILDREN at Ambleside Primary School are to act as consultants for a day to help shape a new playground.

They will be spending a special day of fun, play, exploration and creativity at Grizedale Forest on May 1 in an event that marks the beginning of formal links between the school and the forest.

It will include an opportunity for the children to discuss and draw their ideas of what they would like to see in a new forest playground.

The 50 children from years 1 and 2 will be taken on an educational tour of the forest, follow a treasure hunt and enjoy a lunch with food donated by local businesses.

Help is still needed with the treasure hunt and any businesses or individuals who would like to be involved can e-mail the Forest at hcsharkey@aol.com
