A man has been arrested for wasting police time after making allegations about an assault linked to Marsha McDonnell's murder.
The 18-year-old man was taken into custody yesterday by the Special Crime Directorate, which takles serious and organised crime across the capital. He has since been bailed.
The charge relates to an allegation made by the man, whom police have not named, on 25 February this year.
He claimed to have been attacked by a man jogging on Ormond Drive, Hampton Hill, near where Marsha was killed.
Ms McDonnell was bludgeoned to death metres from her home in a quiet Hampton street early on February 4.
