LOCAL delegates are off to France next month to promote Hertfordshire as an attractive destination for foreign investment.

Hertfordshire Future, which is part of the East of England Development Agency, is hoping to add to the 700 overseas companies already operating in Hertfordshire and hopes it can persuade business leaders at the MIPIM property market in Cannes that the area has a lot to offer investors.

The group is focusing on key facts to attract business leaders. These messages include the East of England's US 110 billion dollar economy, population of more than 5.5 million and density of airports and seaports.

Mr Robin Marriot, investment advisor at Hertfordshire Future, said: "Hertfordshire is particularly well served by companies in computing, life sciences, telecoms and film and media. We will be seeking to develop new contacts in those areas."
