Snows Group Hampshire 1 fixtures bring an early top-of-the-table clash tomorrow.

Pacesetters Fordingbridge have home advantage over second-placed US Portsmouth.

The Services’ side are just four points adrift of Bridge but have played a game less and both sides have yet to taste defeat.

Bridge’s Martin Norton said: “It’s fair to say that it’s always been a tough, hard-fought encounter between us, both at the Rec and Portsmouth, and I’m sure tomorrow will be no different.

“They, like us, have made a good start to the season and undoubtedly the game will be a challenge for us.

“We have prepared well from pre-season and feel we have a strong side for the match.”

Millbrook have made their promotion intentions clear and make the short trip to regular rivals Romsey who have yet to get off the mark.

Brook got the better of their opponents in both fixtures last season, but will not take victory for granted.

Mike Randell said: “Romsey are a side that are capable of scoring points so we want to keep that to a minimum.

“We will be fielding a strong side.”

Team Solent’s students, who made such a bright start to the season this time last season, are on the road to Farnborough as they search for their first win.

Southampton aim to bounce straight back into Hampshire 1 after relegation and the Saints will be given a stern test when they take on a Ventnor side always in the promotion mix.

Hampshire 2 leaders Chineham will defend their place at the top with a home game against Fawley.

Second-placed Locks Heath Pumas head for rock bottom Southsea Nomads.
