The battle at the top of London 2 South-West could be set for another exciting twist tomorrow.

London Cornish regained control of the division after Tottonians lost out and slipped back into second a fortnight ago.

But those sides are not the only ones with an interest in promotion.

Winchester are knocking on the door of the top two after four wins on the bounce.

In fact, Winch’s only two slip ups this season have come against the top two.

Drubbing They lost 19-8 at home to Totts in a close encounter on the opening day of the campaign and were beaten by a single point – 27-26 – at North Walls to Cornish two weeks later.

Winchester have home advantage tomorrow against mid-table Effingham & Leatherhead.

Totts have only lost once in the league but were booted out of the RFU Intermediate Cup last weekend.

Old Alleynians and KCS Old Boys will expect to still be in the promotion picture at the end of play tomorrow – they face bottom sides Tadley and Farnham respectively.
