WINCHESTER welcome the return of two players who have yet to taste first team action during this campaign following serious pre-season knocks.

Centre Jake Hiscock is back for the London 2 South-West home game against Effingham & Leatherhead following a dislocated his shoulder in a friendly against Hove.

Also fit again is winger Adam Dye who broke a rib during the same match.

Winch’s backs have been out-scored by their forwards this season and head coach Andy Fields says the addition of these two players should significantly increase their firepower.

The forwards will also be boosted by the return to the front row of Rob Arthur following a month out with injury.

Fields said: “He has been much missed and his presence should lift the pack’s performance.”

Unpredictable Eastleigh host an unpredictable Teddington side as they look to get back into London 3 South-West’s leading pack.

Teddington sit second but are only six points ahead of Eastleigh. Teddington’s two defeats came against Batterside Ironsides and Old Tiffinians, who beat them by a single point.

But they were taken to a 15-15 draw on home soil by New Milton earlier in the season and were lucky to beat Trojans a week later. Eastleigh left their squad announcement until late this week but knew they would be fielding a new half-back partnership.

Regular scrum half Sean Hayes is out injured and experienced fly half Phil Baldwin unavailable.

Vice captain Russell Smith said: “Nine and ten are the two people who have the ball in their hands most so we have been hit in that area.

“It’s so tight you just don’t know what you are going to come up against in this league – it’s another one of those ‘on the day jobs’.

“It’s all about the 80 minutes because you cannot second guess anything in this league.”

Trojans are away to Farnham.
