Trojans overpowered hard-working Ellingham & Ringwood 41-3 at Stoneham Lane to stay second in London 4 South-West.
Simon Greenhouse opened the scoring for the home team with a catch and drive from the line-out.
Dave Sharpe got on the end of great interplay between backs and forwards to burst through and score under the posts.
Chris Boyd was then the recipient after some wonderful interplay to notch Trojans’ third try.
In the second half Chris Hamp scored tries four and five – the fourth being a lovely move out of Trojans’ own twenty-two and a wonderful kick ahead for Hamp to take on the burst and leave all trailing in his wake. Boyd also added the conversion to take his points tally to 26.
Trojans Coach Pete Surtees said everyone played well but highlighted open side Dan Corbett and second row Simon Greenhouse as outstanding.
Ellingham’s assistant coach Andy Sheerin said after the game: “We were well beaten by the better side today. We weren’t at our best, but you can only play as well as your opponents let you.
“Trojans look like a side that will win promotion this season, whereas we are team consolidating and building for the future. Our time will come. Until then, we will continue to learn on the park and train hard off it.”
