IAN WALKER
ABU Dhabi Ocean Racing lost ground on the 11th day of the Volvo Ocean Race’s third leg.
The team, skippered by Ian Walker, dropped to third behind Team Brunel and is now 33 nautical miles behind the Chinese-backed Dongfeng Race Team.
After sailing past the southern tip of Sri Lanka the leading teams now have about 2,400 nautical miles left to race as they head for the finish line in Sanya, China. The all-female Team SCA, skippered by Hamble’s Sam Davies, was in sixth place.
