THE PSP Southampton boat show got off to a flying start as it opened its doors yesterday kicking off with a huge celebrity sale.

Formula One pundit and multimillionaire Eddie Jordan made a beeline for the Sunseeker luxury powerboat stand – and celebrated the opening of the show by splashing out around £12 million.

The 61-year-old former Jordan Grand Prix owner, pictured, already owns a 37-metre Sunseeker and wasted no time in signing the order form for a bigger and even more exclusive Sunseeker 46 within hours of the show opening.

The 46-metre monster flagship is so cutting edge that it hasn’t been built yet – but when it does it will be the biggest and most luxurious boat in the Sunseeker fleet capable of accommodating 12 guests and eight crew.

The new buy, which has three decks and can travel at speeds of up to 38mph, will be Jordan’s tenth Sunseeker, all of which he has named Snapper.

A spokesman for Sunseeker said: “Eddie already owns a Sunseeker 37 which up until now was our biggest model. He’s such a fan of the boats.”

“The Sunseeker 46 isn’t even in production yet but Eddie wanted to upgrade.”

Jordan was a surprise guest at the world launch of four new Sunseeker models at the boat show.

After being hauled up unsuspectingly in front of hundreds of onlookers, he cut the ribbon launching the Predator 54, 60 and 130 boats as well as the 80 Yacht.
