Women’s Championship welcomes Coffin Mew solicitors on board

The event organisers of the Women's Open Keelboat Championship 2008 are delighted to announce that Coffin Mew LLP, one of the largest law firms on the south coast, will be acting as championship sponsor going forward towards this brand new event which takes place on 7/8 June 2008 for which entry is now open at www.royal-southern.co.uk ..

Coffin Mew is one of the southern region's largest law firms with strong links to the marine industry. From four offices in the Solent area the firm is ideally placed to offer the full range of legal services to businesses, organisations and private clients based in the UK and beyond.

Coffin Mew will be supporting the Women's Open Keelboat Championship 2008 by providing the overall championship prizes. "We are delighted to be involved as championship sponsor in the first ever Women's Open Keelboat Championship in 2008 and are watching how this exciting opportunity unfolds. It is a great way to showcase the sport of competitive sailing. Our marine team is looking forward to being present at the event," said Ray Cobb, Director of Business Development and Marketing.

The firm's association with the event evolved because Coffin Mew recently recruited Victoria Kelly as a new Partner in the Commercial Property team. Victoria, who had previously been a foredeck girl on the boat belonging to one of the event organisers, said: "Some of the most challenging team work I have encountered was out racing, and it was certainly the most fun. I am so pleased that my new firm recognises the value of being involved in such a high performance activity which mixes the natural elements with straightforward hard work!"

Stephanie Danby said: "Victoria was always an asset on board and now, together with her forward thinking firm, is helping this fantastic new regatta forge ahead as a reality. We are really excited about this in the long term and look forward to Coffin Mew being an integral part of the Women's Open Keelboat Championship 2008. "
