Southampton fan Graham Copp travelling from Washington DC to see Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final

More stories about: Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Southampton FC

TRAVELLING 3,500 miles across the world, arriving just hours before the big kick-off, he still has not got a ticket.

Saints mad Graham Copp was so convinced he would get a ticket for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final that he eagerly booked his flight from Washington, USA.

But now, with just three days until Saints take to the hallowed Wembley turf, he has been left searching for generous Saints fans with a ticket or two to spare.

Graham, who has lived in the States for 15 years having married his pen-pal of ten-years, has even offered to make an extra donation to charity in return for a seat at the game.

The school bus driver lives just outside Washington in Leesburg, Virginia, and will fly across the pond arriving at Heathrow on the day of the game.

“I figured that even if every regular home fan took up his allocation of tickets that would leave plenty for the likes of myself,” said Graham, 48.

“When it dawned on me that the availability of tickets was becoming a major issue for supporters like myself, I even ventured with the thought of trying to get a ticket from the Carlisle box office.

“Before I realised it was illegal, I considered looking on Ebay and Craig’s list for tickets. The really galling thing is that if I do not get a ticket and am forced to watch on television, I will see thousands of empty seats at Wembley.

“My efforts have been to no avail so this is a plea to anybody who has a spare JPT ticket (much preferably two) that would like to see them go to someone who would really cherish them.”

CAN YOU HELP? Anyone with a spare ticket to the game is asked to contact Graham’s dad David Copp in Newport on the Isle of Wight on 01983 522738 or Graham in Virginia on (USA) 703 771 9112.

A lot of fans prefer retro shirts, how far have you travelled to go, assuming you are going?
