SAINTS legend Lawrie McMenemy fears the Premier League fat cats will continue to gorge themselves on more money while the rest suffer.
McMenemy believes that England's top 20 clubs will only increase their wealth by playing games abroad.
The extra money generated from playing Premiership games abroad - the controversial plan which is the talk of football - will not be adequately distributed to the rest of the football pyramid.
McMenemy has experienced football at every level during his managerial career, from non-league to international level.
He shares the frustrations of many English fans as Premier League clubs rake in cash whilst others are left to struggle.
Only this week, when the idea has been publicly mooted of taking extra top flight games overseas to generate huge extra revenues, Saints' south coast neighbours Bournemouth have gone into administration with debts of £4m - less than one overseas game is predicted to make.

McMenemy said: "My first impression was it's all about money, money, money.
"The Premier League is awash with it now compared to 10-15 years ago.
"It's getting more and more each year which has opened the floodgates for (overseas) players."
