A WEIGHT loss group has been described as a ‘lifeline’ by three slimmers who shed over 19st between them.

Esta Rowlands, Genine Matthews and Sharon Turner have thanked Bridgwater Slimming World consultant Carol Langdon after her Friday morning class at Bridgwater’s Baptist Church helped them lose the pounds.

Esta, 39, from Bower Manor, has lost almost three stone since joining the group and six stone since joining Slimming World. She said: “I’ve been with Slimming World for over four years off and on. I started Carol’s group in January and it’s been a lifeline.”

Genine Matthews, 56, from Woolavington has been with the group for 14 months. She said: “I’ve lost 5st 2.5lbs. It educates you on the kinds of foods you can eat and everyone’s so supportive. This is the best group I’ve been to.”

Sharon Turner, 41, of Liberty Place, was told by her doctor if she did not lose weight she would have to go on pills due to her high blood pressure.

She said: “It’s been amazing. I’ve been going for 51 weeks and I’ve lost 8st. It really changes your attitude to food.”
