Nathan Dyer returns to St Mary’s today aiming to add his name to an ever-growing list of ex-Saints who have returned to haunt their former employers.

The 24-year-old winger has gone from strength to strength since signing for then Championship club Swansea in 2009 after a successful loan period.

Now he is back at St Mary’s for the first time since his departure talking in terms of winning England international caps.

Dyer will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of his former youth team colleagues Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale in scoring against Saints this season.

In all, TEN ex-Saints have netted in 12 different games against their former club since the start of the 2003/04 campaign.

Kevin Davies, James Beattie, Dexter Blackstock, Kevin Phillips, Ricardo Fuller, Leon Best, Vincent Pericard and Bradley Wright-Phillips had managed it prior to the start of 2012/13.

Blackstock and Phillips have scored against Saints in two different games following their departures.
