Saints clash is "massive" says QPR's Granero

QPR midfielder Esteban Granero knows how important it is to beat fellow strugglers Saints this weekend.

The 25-year-old arrived from Real Madrid in the summer as one of a number of high-profile acquisitions made by the west Londoners, who only escaped relegation last term on the final day.

Another struggle is a predicament QPR had vowed to avoid this season, although they languish bottom of the Premier League without a victory in their opening 11 matches.

The Hoops hope to end that run on Saturday when they welcome 19th-placed Saints to Loftus Road and Granero is all too aware of its importance.

''We know this is going to be massive for us,'' he said. ''We play at home against one of our rivals. We know the supporters are with us and they deserve more than we are giving to them.

''All we can do is continue training hard and give everything on the pitch on Saturday.''

He added: ''I believe the first win will change everything. We are doing the correct things and that is why I think it's going to be better for us very soon.

''The beginning has been a little bit tough but I am sure it is going to get better soon.

''I am here to face this challenge. If people think I am not happy that I am here because we have not won yet, then they are wrong.

''We must work to get away from this situation and we are working hard for this. I am sure we will do it.

''I know the future is going to be good. Of course words mean nothing in football, but I will say that we are training very hard for Saturday's game and we are ready.''

Hope we make it a very misserable weekend for QPR.
It is going to be a tough game but we will win if we play aswell or better than the performance last Saturday.

I am afraid that i can see an Alan Sugar
point at whoever loses this match.

I think if Saints can win it will really inspire the team to move away from the relegation zone.
Good to have Cork back as i think he
strengthens the midfield.

Winnable.

But will we?

I wonder.
